It also used to offer the service to send free SMS.
We will use the http provided by your service provider to send SMS. If you are in India then we have a much better proposal.

I can provide the proposed solutions with an sms gateway solution allowing users to send sms through http and smpp connection too. There will be a webclient which will allow users to send schedule sms ,single sms , bulk sms, group sms and will have delievery report and sms log report details , contact book and credit details and log for the same. There will be a sender and reader module which will read sms queue from the submitted bulk text messages and will later submit on the gateway. There will be user management allowing to control users credit and route the gateway for the users and gateway management capabilities for managing gateway. The same features will be integrated in desktop application to allow users send sms if connected to net only on the ip that will be of your server so no other gateway can be integrated within the desktop to send sms. There will be a registration module and payment module which will allow users to register and later activation code for the same will be send on the mobile no used during registration and payment module to help users purchase credits online.

I already developed an sms webapplication and i am developing an another application totally based on ajax. If ur interested i can add all the features u want. The Demon server which will submit the sms to smsc can handle 20thousand sms per sec.
