Description: My project is for a portable electronic timing system for use by competitive swimmers during training in swimming pools. This would involve some kind of touchpad (or similar idea?) for the swimmer to touch at the end of the race and a clear LED style readout to display the times. This system would allow swimmers in traning to simulate race day conditions. Can you help? Thanks.

I should be able to do this. When I create circuits like this, I also produce a prototype to make sure everything works. The $350 bid price does *not* include the cost of creating this prototypes. The actual cost may vary, but the first unit will cost under $200 and each additional unit will cost $80 or less, fully assembled, plus shipping. Larger quantities (ie. 10 or more) would be cheaper. (If you're very interested, I could look up the price for the buttons the swimmer presses and the cost of trying to make this water resistant before accepting my bid. These prices have a large margine for error because I haven't researched waterproof buttons and the effect of clorine yet. Any unit, including the other bids, would probably dry out very well.)

It will be some PIC controller with some sensors and visual table. And some USB connector to computer, to save a results.
